Looking to reduce your energy bills and ‘do your bit’ for the environment?

Want to find out where the leaks are in your home or a building baselining before you start a retrofit?

Contact Home Energy Doctor today to find out how we can help you.

North West based, working nationwide.

By testing a building before any retrofit work, we can spot the specific issues that make each property unique. This means specifiers can design solutions that really fit the building, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach. It also helps give reassurance that the retrofit work is more likely to deliver the results you’re hoping for.

🫣 Sometimes life can seem to grind to a halt around you despite your best efforts and intentions. Where do you go from there?
If you’re feeling lost amidst a confusion of retrofit options you are not alone.  We’re here, ready to listen and give you the information, guidance and confidence you need, to get where you want to be.

  • Ground your decision-making.
  • Action your priorities, be they reducing bills, saving the environment, both or more!
  • Improve your comfort at home.
  • Give you confidence, for example talking with builders.
  • Provide a longer-term plan for further energy reduction.
  • Answer your questions on energy use and carbon impact.
  • Give you a personalised and specific scientific account of your home that you can see in a report.
  • Give you peace of mind.
  • Put you firmly in control

The Home Energy Doctor Test is a physical test on your home.  It normally takes 3-4 hours from start to finish. If you have a larger or more complex building it may take longer, but the outcome will be the same – clear results telling you exactly what you have. Not an average, not based on someone else’s house or a national average, but a personalised report on your own home that is relevant to your life plans, situation and priorities, whatever they may be.

  • You will heat your home 24 hours before the test.
  • You take part in the testing process. Being there will help you to understand your home better.
  • We depressurise the building compared to outside (no more than the effect of a stormy winter’s night) and then use a thermal imaging camera to explore the interior of your home.
  • Any heat ‘leakiness’ will be identified and clearly explained to you:
    • in an onsite discussion.
    • in a short report including key images from the test.
  • We send you the library of thermal images taken during the test for your future reference.
